Ship security officer
Training meets requirements of STCW A-VI/5 and IMO model course 3.19.
The maritime community has a series of special measures to enhance maritime security. These are contained in the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Chapter XI-2 and the International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code.
The EU regulation on enhancing ship and port facility security transposes SOLAS XI-2 and the ISPS Code into law and requires EU member states to introduce effective sanctions for breaching provisions of the regulation.
Target group: Masters, Deck Officers
Duration: 2 Days. The course is a full 2 days programme and attendance for the whole duration of the course is essential in order to be deemed competent.
